Dreams Covered in Chocolate

So let's discuss one of the items I made for J's "Welcome Back to Malibu" night... The chocolate chip cookie dough truffles. Just the mere mention of such makes me want to pop one in my mouth! Never having made these before, it was a bit of an experiment to see how they would turn out. Luckily, they turned out like dreams covered in chocolate which meant... I was allowed to serve them!

The cookie dough is almost the same as what you would bake in an oven, except this mixture contains no raw eggs - which is particularly good for the truffles since you never actually bake them. The dough is meant to be chilled for 2 hours in 1 inch rounds, making it easy to dunk them into melted chocolate (the coating). For the coating, I decided to play with a mixture of milk and dark chocolate. *Gasp* For those who know me, you know I rarely put a piece of milk chocolate in my mouth... But my oh my, this milk/dark chocolate combo I made has changed my mind for good! Once the dough has been coated in melted chocolate, you put them back in the fridge to cool for another hour. I say a 3 hour wait for truffles = a 3 truffle treat!
