Westside Tavern

The Westside Pavillion has opened up another food option for mall goers and "Westsiders" alike. I'm not talking about another stall in the food court y'all, I'm talking about Westside Tavern. The restaurant serves what it has dubbed as California tavern cuisine - hearty, fresh and seasonal menu items for lunch and dinner. My friend's boyfriend was in town visiting and we decided to eat here based on the casual vibe and mid-range prices... The restaurant doesn't take reservations, so keep that in mind based on what day/time of the week you are planning on going.

While we were waiting for our buzzer to let us know that our table was ready, I took an ocular of the restaurant. The 50-foot bar stretch is hard to miss, even amongst the dim lighting coming from the brass light fixtures. The decor is very woodsy with bar, booth and table seating. We eventually got seated (15 minute wait on a Friday night) and ordered soon after. There was no bread to hold us over 'till our entrees, so the three of us shared the flatbread to start. The salmon was the majority order versus the halibut; 2 to 1. None of us really ordered anything too carby - we were saving room for the 2 desserts we ended up ordering :) Our plates were simple yet comforting, definitely more upscale than a typical mall restaurant!
