Cake Coma

It's no wonder that after a lesson on cakes and tortes I literally walked out of baking class last Sunday in a cake coma!

Classic cakes and tortes are fine examples of flavor combinations and appealing designs that offer a foundation of inspiration for any baker. If you're wondering what the difference between a cake and a torte is -I know you're wondering because I sure was- a simple (note: SIMPLE) explanation is that cakes have a softer and spongier texture where tortes do not because they are known for using a variety of nuts and nut flour. Does that make sense? I hope so... After the cakes were cooled, the cake coma was only a butter cream frosting away!
