TOAST

Jon and I "brunched out" to Toast and ran into what can sometimes be the typical LA restaurant experience - valet parking (or otherwise impossible to find street spot), long waits, slow service and food that's not the best but more than aaaiiggght.

This hip 'n happening spot is both a bakery and cafe, making it easy for people to come in for a quick bite, a sweet-fix, a full lunch or just the daily cappuccino. I drive by 3rd Street often enough and have never seen the place "dead." There's always people standing around the umbrella shaded tables that wrap around this corner cafe.

While waiting for our table, which ended up being outside, I was lured inside by the deli cases which housed jumbo cookies, tempting brownies, pastel-frosted cupcakes and cakes and pies the size of my face.
