Venice Beach Wines

Tucked along the side-walk on Rose Ave. [Venice] lies a little wine shop and artisanal deli by the name of Venice Beach Wines. The only seating area is outside - wood, stone and iron in grays, blacks and browns lending itself to a warm, cozy patio environment. Our server Dustin, who also happened to be the designer of the boho chic Venice hangout, told us that the purpose of the layout was to invite diners to talk and interact with one another. Coming from New York, Dustin brought over that "cool, calm and collected" vibe and wanted imprint it in the restaurant's ambience. Excellent excellent service too, I might add.

The menu is based on fresh fare boasting an extensive wine selection, fancy cheeses, pressed sandwiches and small dish specials. Very much a place for light meals. If you have a thing for pressed/hot/melted sandwiches, you best be making your way over to Rose Ave. as soon as you can! My friend and I ordered 2 melt-a-riffic sandwiches that I have nothing but fantastic things to say about! The sandwiches come in four bite-friendly sizes that you will want to savior the entire plate through. Take small, meaningful crunchy bites and you will see what I'm talking about. I must go back to try the house roasted turkey + brie panini - it was between that and three cheese panini. Of course, I went for the ooey gooey cheesy melt :) And very glad I did ;)
