On Friday night Valerie's mom opened up her kitchen to a few friends and hosted a Japanese meal. While she was cooking and prepping (she insisted that we did not help), the "kids" were sitting around the kitchen island catching up and sipping on a few mimosas. I managed to take some shots of the food before it was sent off to the dinner table. All the seafood was bought at a local Asian supermarket and prepared at home. We knew we were in for a treat when we saw slabs of Kobe beef in the kitchen; a special grade of beef from the Wagyu breed of cattle. Followed by the sashimi, the Kobe was full of flavor and very tender, thanks to its well-marbled texture. Thanks for hosting us, Mrs. D!
