Shutters on the Beach

Just when you thought the graduation destinations couldn't get any closer to the water... First it was Ivy at the Shore, and now we've gone sand-side to Shutters on the Beach. The boutique hotel with bragging rights to the prime coastal Pacific stretch serving as its backyard was the venue of choice to celebrate graduation day. After caps were thrown high into the air and endless pictures were captured with family, friends, and faculty, the Grodeck's and the Grandidge's drove over to One Pico for a lovely brunch that culminated the morning's events.

While overlooking the majestic waters and stunning backdrop of what Alex and I have called home for the past 4 years, our families enjoyed the intimate setting of the seaside restaurant. One Pico is reminiscent of the Hamptons, on the other coast, with the clean white decor, lots of natural light and splashes of blue hues - very beach chic for Santa Monica. While not as casual as Coast [the hotel's beach cafe], One Pico captures the relaxed-vibe of California while still serving elegant American cuisine. We all skipped on appetizers and went straight to entree sized salads and sandwiches ; I wasn't able to take photos of all 10 plates, so please just enjoy the 4 I took below :) Thanks. Xo
