Dinner I for Jon

The first of Jon's birthday dinners was celebrated in Singapore - he wanted to cook something at home just for kicks. We went with something simple; I did roasted brussels sprouts and together we marinated tender short ribs Korean style, which we served with both white and brown rice. A nice simple meal wishing Jon another year of health, wealth and happiness! For dessert, I went on a secret mission downstairs to pick up the Le Royale cake I pre-ordered from Canele; can never go wrong with that! Happy Birthday, Babe! xo

Opening in Malibu :: Ruby's Shake Shack

The Malibu pier isn't busy all that often, but come June 28 there are sure to be more footsteps coming in its direction. Ruby's Shake Shack will finally be open serving familiar diner grub (burgers, fries, shakes, the works...) for visiting beach comers and Malibu locals alike. Thanks to Eater LA, I found out about two off-the-menu items that one must ask for: The Malibu Mudpie Shake and the Beach Burger. Now that's one secret that we all wanna be in on!

Who's up for some shots?!

What would I do without Cupcakes Take the Cake? They keep me updated with all the cupcake news you can imagine... Like the new frozen frosting shots at Sprinkles :) I remember taking the regular frosting shots and the quick sugar rush I got soon after. I wonder what effect these will have... Whatever the case, these are the kinds of shots I'm always down for!
