Saturday 80's Brunch @ Trilogy + Canteen

You didn't think I was just going to show you food shots of Trilogy Boutique + Canteen's 80's weekend brunch, did you? I was there in the flesh enjoying my Saturday afternoon -we went a little late- with my favorite foodie in crime. Jon, that's you :) After looking long and hard at the menu, we ordered 3 plates for the 2 of us. We would.

La Cuisine Francaise

My Tita Michelle is quite the riot -in a good way- at the Salcedo Market every Saturday morning. Her voice can be heard near or far from her busy booth, "Good French food! Good French food!" On the Saturday's that I am in town for, I always purchase a little somethin' somethin' from her stall, La Cuisine. Not because I have known her since I was itty bitty, but because I really enjoy her homey French renditions; the vegetable lasagna is probably my favorite.

As Tita M started to take a serious liking to her new role as chef/caterer, she also noticed that she had quite the following at the Saturday market. Why not add "restauranteur" to the list? I guess there wasn't an answer to that question, hence La Cuisine the restaurant. Tita M and her husband Jean are now proud owners of their new baby.

I visited La Cuisine for the first time this week and was so pleased with how far they have come... My parents and I were lucky enough to have lunch with the "house-wife chef", as she likes to be called. I was so full from my lasagna and wasn't expecting to have dessert come. Next thing I know, 2 cake slices are brought to the table and it's like I forgot about my lunch. I have a new love for Concorde and Daquoise cakes. Let me recommend to you this French restaurant/deli :) Now for the best part, the pictures!
