M O C C A

Not Mocha, but Mocca.

After doing the drive up north with only one Starbucks stop, the family was feeling quite peckish by the time we neared our destination. The friends we were staying with live outside the city, but we took a late-lunch stop in San Francisco before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to go see 'em. I've been to San Francisco a number of times with the family and after we graduated from the Cheesecake Factory atop Macy's, we chose a new, more sophisticated lunch venue: Mocca. We've been going back ever since...

This charming, French-like bistro is tucked away on Maiden Lane just off Union Square. You won't miss their outdoor seating on the pedestrian-only street that peeps into the city. Chris and Dad got the tri-tip sandwich on a french baguette. It is to die for. Once you taste the juicy and tender beef on the crunchy baguette, you will understand. Mom and I went for something a bit lighter and chose a trio of salads from the deli-case; we pretty much made our own mezze platters. Mocca was such a refreshing meal that undoubtedly held us over 'till dinner time!
