Urth Caffe: Melrose

With this slightly cooler LA weather, my appetite screams for warm soups and hot sandwiches. I was able to meet some friends over at Urth Caffe this week, and I had the latter of the two. And funny enough, Alexandra got the former! We were lucky and didn't catch the dreary weather that has seemed to shower upon us these last few days. There was a peek of sunshine on Melrose so we sat outside yet still took full advantage of the heating lamps - such a genius device. Next time I need to get the best of both worlds, 1/2 soup 1/2 sandwich!

URTH-NORMOUS

I am opening the dessert door once again, it's just in my nature... My friend Claudia and I caught up for an overdue chat sesh over on Main Street in Santa Monica, more specifically Urth Caffe's outdoor patio. The cafe prides itself in being an organic coffee company that brews their own brand of coffees and teas, but I think they're more recognized for their television cameos (Entourage, The Hills anyone?) and "scene" factor. After all, all the cafe locations are in pretty snazzy neighborhoods: West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Downtown.

Urth Caffe doesn't just serve those on the liquid diet - in addition to coffee/tea they have great fresh juices, natural sodas, bottled drinks, boba creations, and blended favorites - because they have also expanded into the healthy eating sector. Soups, sandwiches, salads, and other entrees are all on the menu, it's actually a pretty vast selection. My favorite part, as we know by now, is their dessert! Oh.my.gosh. All the desserts in the glass casing by the cashiers are seriously ginormous. I feel bad that I didn't take a picture of the sweetness. One dessert plate at Urth Caffe is good for at least 3 people who eat sensible portions. So let's just say, one dessert to share with someone is ideal! Hehe. Check out our oversized delectable desserts, it's the way of the Urth...
